“Voies d'évasion has a dual ambition: to give a spotlight to artists to promote their careers and encourage reflection about the reality and challenges of trajectories in the artistic field. What does it represent being an artist today, and what is the personal and social path to becoming one? How do you build a career based on training courses that unlock the doors to the professionally demanding creativity that goes beyond the traditional track? What happens during training so that needs, desires and intuitions become practices that can be exhibited, shared and made sense in today's society? “The NuméricA festival invites the digital community of the Annecy region to an event that lasts a weekend. On this occasion, imagespassages presents the work of Tanguy Benoit, who uses contemporary tools to question the world and images that surround us. His piece Tumbling Tumbleweed, Quieter Than Silence is a virtual universe designed using computer tools. It depicts the migration of a Russian thistle or tumbleweed, an invasive plant that colonized the American continent during the conquest of the West. Presented within a video game, this digital environment expresses the concept of territorial appropriation and re-examines its Hollywood representations.” (Pauline Boucharlat and Tanguy Benoit, 2024)

We Crave Blood

“For Noam Toran's second solo show at RawArt gallery, the artist presents an installation addressing the pervasive imprint of settler mythologies and imaginaries onto desert landscapes. The origin desert for the work is the Chihuahuan desert where the artist was born, a territory that encompasses present-day northeastern Mexico as well as the states of Texas and New Mexico. Through mixed-media montage, personal memoir, and the haunted remains of a set, We Crave Blood materially, sonically, and cinematically explores the phantasmagoria of a region and landscape that exists within the Western European imagination more as myth than as place.” (Maya Bamberger, Noam Toran and Keith Jones, 2023)

“Students from the Construction, Art and Space option of the HEAD - Geneva went to the former porcelain factory in Langenthal in the spring of 2018. They investigated the issues surrounding this now abandoned industrial site. Fascinated by history and by stories surrounding this factory, the students and their teachers shared their experiments in the form of artistic proposals that summoned, through the factory's furniture and materials, the local anecdotes and atmosphere of this unique Swiss industrial heritage. This project led to an in situ exhibition in April 2018.
